SENIOR LEGAL OFFICER

REQUIREMENTS

• Attorney-at-Law duly qualified to practice in Sri Lanka

• Minimum of seven (07) years post-qualification experience, preferably in the banking or financial sector

• Proven experience in litigation and recovery-related legal work

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Draft pleadings and other legal documentation relating to past due and recovery matters and initiate legal proceedings as required

• Appear before original and appellate courts on behalf of the Bank (Ability to conduct trials and inquiries will be a distinct advantage)

• Provide legal advice on all matters relating to banking operations and recovery

• Coordinate effectively with external counsel and internal departments ongoing legal matters

OTHER COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

• Exceptional communication skills (both written and oral)

• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters efficiently
