The Manager – Sustainability is a high-impact leadership role at Citizens Development Business Finance PLC (CDB), responsible for spearheading the organization’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda. You will provide the strategic vision necessary to integrate sustainability into corporate risk management and operational decision-making. A primary focus of this role involves leading the Net Zero Transition Framework in partnership with international bodies, specifically adopting and integrating Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) standards. By developing robust governance frameworks and managing social impact initiatives, you will ensure CDB transitions effectively toward a low-carbon future while maintaining transparency through world-class annual and sustainability reporting for senior management and global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the sustainability agenda and integrate ESG into corporate strategy and risk management.

• Lead the Net Zero Transition Framework implementation and integrate Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) standards.

• Coordinate Net Zero pillar projects across cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes.

• Develop sustainability policies and governance frameworks, including ESG, ESMS, and Sustainable Purchasing.

• Lead the preparation of Annual and Sustainability Reports according to international reporting standards.

• Provide strategic sustainability updates to Senior Management and the Board of Directors.

• Engage internal and external stakeholders to strengthen sustainability partnerships.

• Manage and expand social impact initiatives to ensure meaningful community outcomes.

• Maintain relationships with international funding partners and development agencies to advance strategic collaborations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Finance, Business, Environmental Science, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, or environmental management.

• Experience in sustainability reporting and regulatory compliance is desirable.

• Proven ability in stakeholder engagement and managing international partnerships.

• Master’s or professional qualification in Sustainability/ESG is an added advantage.
