Role Overview
Teamforce Labour is recruiting an experienced Civils Ganger with specific expertise in troughing to lead a dedicated team on ongoing infrastructure projects in York. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering high-profile civil engineering works.
As a Civils Ganger, you will supervise a small site team, ensuring all works are executed safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate a team of operatives to ensure daily targets are met.

Troughing Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end installation of troughing routes, including excavation, laying, and reinstatement.

Quality Control: Ensure all installations align with project drawings, specifications, and deadlines.

Safety Management: Maintain rigorous health and safety standards on-site at all times.

Liaison & Reporting: Act as the key point of contact between site managers, engineers, and other trades; complete daily reports and assist with work planning.
Requirements

Experience: Proven track record as a Civils Ganger or Supervisor, with essential experience in troughing installation.

Certification: Valid CSCS card (Gold or Black preferred).

Qualifications: SSSTS or SMSTS certification is highly desirable.

Technical Skills: Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and site plans.

Leadership: Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate a site-based team.
