About the Role

NextGen Teachers are currently recruiting for a committed and experienced EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a mainstream primary school in the LS15 area of Leeds. This role is on a supply basis and will involve providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of early years development and experience supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil within an EYFS setting

  • Support the child’s learning, development, and emotional regulation

  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively and consistently

  • Assist with the delivery of EYFS activities tailored to individual needs

  • Support communication, social interaction, and engagement in learning

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow support plans

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN and/or SEMH needs

  • Strong behaviour management skills and confidence working 1:1

  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework and early childhood development

  • Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential
