Specialist Physiotherapist – Neuro Rehabilitation

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time (0.8 WTE) permanent Physiotherapist with an interest in neuro-rehabilitation. We are looking to recruit a B6 Specialist Physiotherapist for our Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Trafford General Hospital.

You will be part of a dynamic, well-established multidisciplinary team, working alongside a Clinical Lead, experienced Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Psychologists and Rehabilitation Assistants. Our team is committed to delivering a holistic approach to patient care, ensuring high-quality outcomes in line with national guidelines.

This Band 6 role offers the chance to contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and the education of students and junior staff, while continuing your own professional development.

The post holder should have proven practical skills in neurological physiotherapy, with competent respiratory skills. You should have excellent communication skills, evidence of neurological management and rehabilitation skills, multidisciplinary working and experience of complex discharge planning within the NHS.

You will have skills in therapeutic handling, normal movement, upper limb rehabilitation, spasticity management, specialist seating and positioning.

Alongside the clinical work the successful applicant will contribute to the supervision and appraisal of junior staff with support from the senior therapy team. You will have proven clinical skills and a strong commitment to Multi-Disciplinary Team working. You will be able to deliver specialist training and education to junior staff and students as well as multi-disciplinary colleagues.

You will be expected to contribute to the Physiotherapy on-call service and weekend working.
