About the Role

Panda is an award-winning, forward-thinking leader in waste and recycling solutions. We are entering an ambitious new phase of growth and are seeking a tenacious Business Development Manager to join our Leeds team.

This is a new business, field-based sales role specifically designed for a “hunter” who thrives on prospecting, building a robust pipeline, and closing high-value B2B deals. Following a structured training programme, you will take ownership of your territory, delivering against quarterly targets and driving annualised contract revenue.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Generation: Proactively secure new B2B customers through high-impact door-to-door canvassing and outbound prospecting.

  • Solution Selling: Professionally present Panda’s recycling and waste services, clearly articulating unique features, advantages, and benefits (FAB).

  • Account Development: Upsell and cross-sell additional services—including shredding, hazardous waste, and national solutions—to the accounts you bring on board.

  • Lead Management: Manage all assigned inbound enquiries effectively while booking and attending appointments with key senior decision-makers.

  • Compliance & Auditing: Complete accurate client site risk assessments and site audits; pre-qualify opportunities to ensure business fit and credit approval.

  • Sales Administration: Maintain timely CRM updates and provide weekly KPI reporting in line with company standards.

  • Market Awareness: Monitor regional competitor activity and market trends; represent Panda at regional networking events.

  • Operational Liaison: Partner with Sales Admin, Service, and Operations teams to ensure the seamless onboarding and implementation of new services.

About You

Experience & Requirements:

  • Sales Background: Proven success in B2B sales, preferably selling service-based contracts.

  • Prospecting Skills: Confident with door-to-door canvassing, telemarketing, and appointment booking.

  • Tenacity: A positive, driven “hunter” mindset with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in the field.

  • Technical Proficiency: Confident using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and CRM systems.

  • Licensing: A full UK driving licence is essential.

  • Industry Knowledge: Waste industry experience is advantageous but not required, as full training is provided.
