About the Role

Panda is a leading waste management provider in Leeds, championing sustainable practices and the circular economy. We are seeking a skilled HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. Based out of our Cross Green (LS9) depot, you will play a vital role in our daily operations, ensuring waste materials are transported safely and efficiently while maintaining excellent standards of customer service and environmental compliance.

The Pay & Benefits

  • Base Rate: £14.39 per hour.

  • Daily Bonus: £10.00 per day.

  • Overtime: £18.71 per hour (paid for all hours worked over 45 per week).

Key Responsibilities

  • Specialized Operation: Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles, including Skip loaders and Hookloaders (RoRo).

  • Route Optimization: Plan and follow the most efficient routes to maximize productivity and reduce environmental impact.

  • Compliance & Safety: Perform mandatory daily vehicle safety checks and report any defects; maintain accurate digital logs via the company tablet.

  • Regulatory Adherence: Comply with all transport legislation, drivers’ hours, and Health & Safety regulations.

  • Customer Excellence: Act as a professional representative of Panda at all collection and delivery points.

  • Operational Flexibility: Adapt to varied shift patterns, which may include weekends and Bank Holidays.

Essential Requirements

  • Licensing: Valid UK HGV Category C (Class 2) licence and a current Driver CPC.

  • Documentation: Valid Digital Tachograph card.

  • Experience: Proven HGV driving experience (experience within the waste management sector is highly preferred).

  • Technical Skills: Ability to operate or train on specific waste vehicles (Skip/Hookloader).

  • Physical Fitness: Candidates must be physically fit to handle manual tasks and wear required PPE.

  • Attributes: A proactive, safety-conscious approach with a dedication to high vehicle standards.
