Service Delivery Manager – Leeds

About the Role
We are seeking a high-caliber Service Delivery Manager to lead an established, multi-site operation in the Leeds and Bradford area. This is a critical leadership position with full ownership of operational delivery, financial performance, and team development across our Skip and RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) services.
The successful candidate will be a seasoned transport professional with a strong commercial mindset, responsible for maintaining peak operational performance while driving continuous improvements in efficiency, service quality, and regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities

Financial Ownership: Full accountability for the operational P&L, including budget management, cost control, and identifying strategic profitability improvements.

Operational Excellence: Oversee daily transport activities, ensuring optimized route planning, maximum fleet utilization, and effective resource allocation.

Compliance & Safety: Maintain full compliance with Operator License requirements, transport legislation (WTD), and all Health & Safety standards. You will be expected to be named on the company’s O-License.

Strategic Leadership: Lead and develop a large operational team and driver pool, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and professionalism.

Performance Management: Implement structured coaching and performance frameworks to meet and exceed KPIs related to cost, service, and customer satisfaction.

Fleet & Asset Management: Oversee maintenance planning and fleet performance to minimize downtime and maximize operational output.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with sales, workshop, and compliance teams to ensure seamless service delivery and effective resolution of operational escalations.
Experience and Skills
Essential

Industry Expertise: Proven experience in waste management, with specific expertise in Skip or RoRo operations highly preferred.

Qualifications: Valid Transport Manager CPC (International or National) and a full UK driving license.

Leadership: Demonstrable experience managing large operational teams in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Commercial Acumen: Strong experience managing budgets and delivering against P&L targets with a focus on cost control.

Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of transport legislation, Working Time Directive (WTD), and safety requirements.

Communication: An effective influencer capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels.

Additional safety or operational certifications (e.g., IOSH, First Aid, or ADR awareness).
